About Sijill
Sijill means the register in which what happened is recorded. It is a place to study Islamic knowledge and to keep what you learn, so that you can find it again years later.
What this holds itself to
The source comes first
A note stays tied to where it came from: the line of the book, the lesson, and the moment in the recording when the lesson has one. Knowledge without a chain back to where it came from is not knowledge you can rely on.
Five things never blur
A source, a scholar's words, your own note, a machine summary, a machine answer. The distinction is enforced in the database and in the design. The two machine kinds are not in use today, because the AI is switched off.
The AI is a librarian, not a mufti
The AI helper is not switched on yet. When it is, it will search only what you have saved and hand it back with its sources. It will issue no rulings, speak for no scholar, and answer from no general knowledge.
Your notes are yours
Private unless you choose to share one. A private note is seen by nobody else, not even an administrator, and it never enters anyone else's search results.
Who pays
Free for students and teachers
Starting a class, joining a class and the core of Sijill are free for students and teachers. Nothing in the core is locked behind payment.
Institutes pay. the price is not decided yet
Institutes pay to use Sijill. The price has not been decided yet.
5% at most on payments to a teacher or an institute, once cards are connected
Today Sijill only records payments that go straight to the teacher or the institute. Card payments are not connected yet. When they are, and a student pays a teacher or an institute through Sijill, Sijill will keep a small share: never more than 5 percent in all, the card company's fee included.
Every cost, up front
- Nothing in the core is locked behind payment
- Fees go straight to the teacher or the institute
- No late fees, no interest
What this is not
It is not an AI shaykh. Sijill itself gives no rulings, and no machine in it speaks as a scholar.
It has a community side, but it is not a place to collect followers. Only teachers and institutes post, from their pages, and only those pages can be followed. Counts stay hidden unless a page chooses to show them, and there is no advertising.
Sijill is independent. It is not affiliated with any institution, academy or school of thought, and it does not take sides between them.
